For all those ready to start your own thing, here are the tools I use…
Introduction
Hi and welcome to scheduleyourstrength.com! In this blog I’m going to talk about fitness, DIYing a small business. Plus, creation of this personal training app, and its benefits. I also plan on sharing fitness tips and small biz content along the way.
FYI, I’m not a long-winded person, so these will be short and sweet. 😉
First of all my name is Jordan Riddle I’m 35 years old. I’m a husband and dad of two girls and as I’m writing this a third should be on her way any day now! I’m also a fitness nerd, and general DIYer. When I needed a specific app, it only made sense that I created my own…
SYS began because what I wanted in a fitness app just wasn’t out there. For me, If I don’t have my workouts planned out and written down, I tend to just wander around and do the same few things in the gym. There also needed to be a way to put workouts into my Google calendar, which I already used, to see how it fits in my schedule. There are tons of fitness apps out there. However, it seems like they are just copies of one another and are way more complicated than they need to be.
I wanted to harness the simplicity of a mobile app but still let personal trainers (or obsessive “athletes” like myself), have the freedom to input whatever they want into the software. Utilizing Gmail and Google calendar was a no-brainer since most people already have it. So people have the app they need right in front of them. Doing things this way, athletes don’t have to create a new login to see their workouts.
This makes it super easy to just open your calendar and look at your workout. Which means spending less time messing with your phone and trying to log in or deciding what to do. I know when I work out first thing in the morning, I need it as easy as possible. The less thinking I have to do before my workout/coffee, the better.
So for SYS users and readers alike I hope we save you time, provide some good info and motivation, or at least a little entertainment.
Have Fun!
Jordan
